Does anyone know about some ruins on the northside bend of the Colorado river, where the river turns south on the California and Arizona border? I came across
an old map in a book that shows ancient ruins along the Colorado river and its tributaries. I am not sure what the area is called or what type of people built
them, maybe Anasazi or Fremont.

I found this site a little while ago. http://www.comnett.net/~kolson/LCM2.html This is the Lost City ruins that date to about 100 AD.

Atomite the only ruins I have ever heard of would be the ones in the Grand Canyon. There is stuff wrote on them here on this site and you probably know about
them. I know nothing about them other than what I have read here. If I remember right you can view them from the North rim. I really forget. They where laid
out in some kind of geometric form. Supposedly something to do with planets and stars and or what not. Supposedly Egyptian ruins I think. As for the Indian
stuff there is ruins all along the Colorado. What I have seen is in the Moab area but I guess there is a whole lot in the area of Lake Powell. A whole lot went
under the water after the dam was finished. I forget but look here on this site and you should find them. Others ought to jump in here and say something also.

Atomite sorry but the next subject which I am sure you have seen and probably posted on is the one you want. Egyptian ruins and then Grand Canyou and or
Colorado river. Hit on those. I am sure you are way ahead of me.

I was betting against the Kayenta or Virgin-Anasazi people being down that far. The petroglyphs I saw just South of Las Vegas and further South seemed to tie
more into the Southern California Indian groups (and darned if I can remember what they would be named). I'll have to be sure to visit that museum on my
next trip through that area. I haven't heard of ruins being found down in that area before, even when down at the dam.

Petroglyphs at Vegas! | ||

I am going to Vegas in a couple of weeks. I am suppose to go and see some petroglyphs I believe to lay west of Vegas. I hape to see something that is
interesting. Hopefully this will not include rattlesnakes. My daughter has had problems with them in the area and was very lucky that she was not bitten once
and or twice when she was running in the area. She had to change her thinking on where she ran after problems with the snakes. This was at the Hover Dam area.
I will be glad to see some warm weather. If I see some unusual petroglyphs I will post them here.
