It takes alot of time and research to read through all the books available along with the research in the field to prove the theories. It would be nice if there was one complete book with every possible meaning and theory that everyone could use. Along with archives and such. Including all death traps and death warnings. monuments. But there may never be one. Maybe down the road all of us on here can put our knowledge to gether and write a combined book on the whole knowledge and meanings as a group. That would be impressive. Untill then I will continue my quest for knowledge. Thanks Kanabite for clearing this up.

i would like to have someone tell me the jest of Shaffer's book , because i will not waste my money one it ,i have some of the info that went into writing it because it came from the horsed mouth { not ShafTers} anyone

In his book Of men and Gold > Introduction>> Chapter 1 > The Spanish Come To Utah .. Chapter 2 in Search For Vast Riches.. Chapter 3 The Search for Riches Continues.. Chapter 4> Riches Beyond Belief.. SECTION 1 > Spanish Symbols and Their Meanings. Section 2 Hard t Interpret Indian and Spanish Symbols .. Secton 3 Of Men and Gold -THe Final Chapter.. It talkes about a bunch of different supposedly very rich mines that he and gale rhodes found.. HA right Gale found most of them. Any ways there are a lot of bogus maps to mines if they were real he would not have put them in the book or they are on indian land which he knows no one in there right mind would be looking for a mine they might get shot over. He tells lots of stories of rich mines in the uintas. Has a symbol section that actually compares to most material found. Like picket , Of course this knowledge is not his personal knowledge. Here are some of the authors he claims to have recieved this knowledge. Ledgends of lost missions and mines, CHARLES W POLZER S.J > Early Spanish Treasure Signes & Symbols, Wm Mahan , 1963 > Treasure Signes & Symbols, Thomas Penfield, 1973 Along with every archive you can think of such as spain mexico Arizona texas utah The Numismatic society peru. There are some stories of Caleb Rhodes and the lost mines Thats bout it.

IN his book Treasures of the Ancients he talkes about the Aztecs and Ancient Tablets. and some symbols but not many. This is the introduction > chapter 1 - Sanpete Mummy Cave .. Chapter 2> The Kinderhook Plates. Chapter 3 THe middle Bronze Age Tablet of the Wasatch. Chapter 4 THe ynknown Nation.. Chapter 5> The Padilla Plates .. Chapter 6> Mystical Writings and Lost Treasures. Chapter 7>Other Writings, Artifacts and Conclusions. Thats about all....Does this answer your Question?? He claims most of the information in the books came from archives and the smithsonian. I personally think the smithsonian is a supressor of knowledge. not a Devuldger of knowledge. Gale Rhodes is about your best bet for straight up hands on knowledge. He learned from generations of Rhodes. Mike Picket is pretty good but I dont agree on a few of the meanings he gives. Kenworthy has been pretty acurate for me. And undoubtedly right on the money with death traps. George Thomson has some good material but not many signes / symbols. Just stories.

Dots can mean many things depending on how they are used and if they are "dots" or something deeper like a drill hole. A dot can indicate a number or it can be a "thing". That "thing" may be the treasure that you seek or the location of something that will take you to the treasure or the location of a clue/marker. Sometimes the definition of a dot or drill hole can change depending on if it is horizontal or vertical. This would also depend on who made it. There is also a difference in whether the dot is square or round. It has been my experience that a square dot or drill hole is always referring to treasure where as a round dot or drill hole can be referring to treasure or a marker or something else.

It's not what you look at, but what you see.

i think from your description it is the second one i am going to have to read . i got to figure out how to do it without "contributing to the delinquency of plagiarism for profit" that should be on the books under some kind of copyright violation , it is definitely an ethics thing any way . i guess i will quit bashing on the shafTer now . thanks for your help

back on topic , i posted a 7 somewhere and so did the other bob . mine is in the shadows , his is on a tree . they both have another very similar v or square {90degree kind } with them . i think this is the campsite. just not convinced it is Spanish alone:

what it is i have been up to in this thread acting like a big ole jerk, it was an exercise in example . some of you may have thought i had lost my mind picking on someone who is not even here to defend himself . i noticed no one wanted to argue the point as i chose a subject to bash on , saying things that have been confirmed through a network of those who know the situation.if it made you feel uneasy listening to me rant now you know how i feel when i read things in this forum that are inflammatory and slanderous to folks that i consider my friends .to set the record straight mesa , Steve , Alec and mike are all fine treasure hunters in their own right . they know a lot of things about the treasures that they seek. herb is a good guy too . no one of us is trying to cover up the truth. i find it insulting for someone that thinks they know something different about this stuff to claim they know it all while the rest of us are somehow trying to keep information from getting out . sorry diver wherever you are we are not trying to suppress the truth , we are only trying to get to the bottom of it . and you remember my friend i talked about that had his research stolen , he was here and he is such a nice guy he just read the things i wrote and did not add fuel to the fire . he is a much better man than i.

Kanabite, I don't think so....you are a big part of this forum along with the likes of those you mentioned...mesa, Steve, Alec as well as some others of my personal favorites: PTcarrol, tnwoods, desertmoons, dupsounds(new) etc (there are others- I'm sorry if I left you off!). Opinions AND knowledge is what fuels this forum and makes it fun and interesting to read. There's nothing wrong with not agreeing with someone or giving a different opinion. But as you said, being "slanderous and inflammatory" adds nothing. All of you have always been kind to me when I have asked a question. Some of you even tease each other a bit!

In the words of Benjamin Franklin: "For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information...to change opinions, even on important subjects which I once thought right but found to be otherwise." Maybe some of us need to work harder on changing our opinions of what we "know" because someone else on this forum has shared better information.

Wow, I don't usually wax philosophical like that. Really everyone, thanks for sharing. VJ
