But first I want to let you in on a little known program from the good folks at IObit. It's called Advanced Windows Care. I' have been personally using this program since I found it a couple of years ago. On an aver age I've used it about four to five times a week, sometimes more. When I used it for the first time it really sacred me, it said I had over 20,000 errors on my computer, and it wanted me to click on 'fix it', right I surely will Jose! Ain't no way, Jackson am I clicking on that 'fix it' button. I did a lot of surfing around checking this thing out and every thing I saw was good. With shaking hand I ran another scan and waited for the dreded 'fix it' button to pop up. I held my nose, closed my eyes, I took a drink and clicked on the 'thing'. No bells, no lights, it just started fixing things. Finally it was done and I was sure that my computer was a goner, it had just cleaned up about 25,000 errors. I gave it a test, I have to tell you that I was amazed, this old computer was running better than it was when I took it out of the box on that first joyful day a couple of years ago. I now do it regularly and have never had a problem with it, never. I put this here to help anyone out that might have noticed that their computer isn't just what it used to be, running a little slow, getting cranky about finding your programs or pictures. It was a fast download, fast scan and I had over 32,000 errors on my computer!!!! Like you, I am so hesitant on downloading things with all the junk floating around out there. My son got hit by a scammer and it was trying to load over 10,000 emails to his inbox so I am doing a reformat on that one. It's great to share computer tips with everyone and thank you again. This is safe for anyone to use.

This has to be THE best thing I've come across ever and I use it a lot. You might also consider downloading the free defragmenter also. What I did was disable the one in the Dailycare scanner to speed the scanning process up a lot and then downloaded the defragger as a separate item and set it to do an autoscan every Sunday morning at 2AM. Defragging alone speeds things up. This tool, and others, are an integral part of the Windows program but most people don't know they are there and can't find them and therefore don't use them. On occasion you might notice that following a full scan and fix some programs might be slow to load the first time you go to use them. I think that is because the computer is looking for the new route without the junk, after the first time everything speeds up. I did see the defrag download and will do it later today. I sent the OIbit to my niece and she was shocked at how many errors she had (like I was...I had no clue about them). I will contact her later today and see how it worked out for her. There were several others in the game room that are going to try it. This is one download I will recommend to any who ask for it.

I down loaded immediatly and found that I only had 32,000 errows and junk to deal with. It cleared it right up. So far I have not found any problems. I am glad all of the spy ware is now removed. There was a bunch. Lost

The IObit windows care is not the greatest at finding the really nasty stuff, for that you need a better tool. Another program I like is A-squared. If you download it be sure to update it before you use it and do a thorough scan, and only when you are not going to use the computer for up to two hours It is really meticulous and it can take that long depending on how big your hard drive is. http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/ There are other good ones for spyware too, you might also try Ad-aware http://lavasoft.com/produ...ware_free.php or Spybot-Search and Destroy http://www.download.com/S...3000-8022_4-10122137.html All three are pretty good, about the only difference in them is that A squared will scan for trojans and worms too. Be sure to update them, the download will probably not have the latest updates. And as always, they are FREE.

From my 37k errows I have went to about a dozen errows each time I run the program. No problems using it and it certainly has not caused any problems on my computer. I still run a clean up and a defrage program every week and I also use and update a free virus program also. It is AVG antivirus and it works well. Lost

This is so much better than the other one I used. I can not believe it is free. Then it comes up ever so often and tells you how much better your computer will run if you pay for the bigger and better model. I guess if I was to be using that one I would not have to do a thing at all. As it is I do not do much more than push the CARE button. I am also using AVG 8 as virus protection as it is free also. When will they put up a free internet connection and or satilite dish? Why pay for anything now? Lost

I decided to give it a try and it found just under 7,000 issues with my system. I went ahead and fixed those, then was curious about their PRO version. I went ahead and purchased it and ran the diagnostics again with the enhanced features enabled and it found another 2,000+ issues all of which I found to be legitimate upon researching them ... pretty impressive ...

I too bought the Pro version, although I'm too sure it was really worth it to get the additional features. Maybe it was because I'd used the free version for so long there were not that many problems left to fix. Until you use it it's hard to believe that a computer can have so many problems and still work. It's one of the very few free things left that really works.

It could be that your ISP's DNS is what's holding you up. Give this a try, if it doesn't work just change everything back as it was, but my guess is you'll want to leave it with the change. https://www.opendns.com/start/computer/ If there are already numbers in the primary and secondary DNS areas be sure to write them down in case you want to change back.
