(The following sites are, I believe, combination rooms which were last used by the KGC. They are located in the north-central part of the panhandle, and these treasure rooms may or may not be on private property.)
Texas Beyond History is an excellent web site that goes into some of the archaeological digs located within the State of Texas. Many of these dig sites are also treasure locations.
By going to the main page of Texas Beyond History, you will see the Texas map that has several dots on it. These dots locate the sites that have been dug, or are in the process of being dug. Looking to the top part of the Texas panhandle you will see one of these dots with the words "Buried City." Click on this dot. You will be taken to the web pages that deal specifically with "Buried City."
Once at this first page for "Buried City," scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see a red arrow that says "Follow Buried City." Click on this arrow. You will be taken to page two. Now scroll down the page and you will see a map on the left hand side that states "Everly's map of Buried City." Click on this map for an enlargement. Copy this map.
Everly's map uses the same coding/decoding techniques as the KGC. It shows the Mr. Everly had knowledge of these techniques. This map leads to at least two different treasure rooms.
The story behind the archaeological dig at Buried City is an interesting one. It is also an incomplete one. As always, more questions arise than those that are answered.
